The Feasts and Festivals of Jesus’ Life: When you really want to get to know someone, you take a look at what’s important to them. During this presentation, participants experience the holy days that Jesus, his family, his friends and his community lived out year by year. (90 minutes)

Encountering Jesus with Martha and Mary: Luke and John offer us three passages in which Martha and Mary interact with Jesus. Through these stories, we consider the message these challenging stories have for our lives. (60 minutes)

Your Light Will Rise in the Darkness: Based on God’s instructions in Isaiah 58 regarding “the fast that pleases me,” Ruth tells stories from the four gospels that show how Jesus’ life fulfilled Isaiah’s word from God. (60 minutes)

This Night Is Different: Ruth tells scripture from Exodus that reveals the liberating event Jesus and the disciples were celebrating on Holy Thursday (Maundy Thursday). In this presentation, Ruth also shares a Jewish tale that imaginatively retells the Exodus story from an Egyptian perspective. (60 minutes)

Living Lives of Loving Kindness: The Book of Ruth: Following the theme of loving kindness, Ruth tells and shows how the four chapters of Ruth each provide insight and direction for our own lives. (60 minutes)

A Life of Courage: The Story of Rahab: God chooses people you wouldn’t expect to help the Israelites as they approach the Promised Land. Hear the story of Rahab and her interactions with the Israelites. Consider how her wisdom and savvy earn her a place among the admired ancestors of our Lord. (60 minutes)

Living Lives of Courage and Kindness: The storytelling reflections for Rahab and Ruth provide two captivating keynote talks for a women’s one-day retreat. I will work with your retreat planner to help your women’s group come together for a memorable day getting to know these two remarkable biblical women.

Biblical Story Learning Workshop: Learning scripture by heart and exploring ways to embody a Bible story truly helps a person walk in the light of their faith. By the end of this highly interactive workshop (or retreat), participants will be well on their way to performing a Bible story. I can suggest a target Bible story or work with the planner to choose a story appropriate to your group’s needs. (90 minutes, or may be expanded for day-long story learning retreats. This Workshop can also be offered virtually.)

Holy Humor: Our lives are full of humor, yet humorous moments and events seem to be lacking from the Bible. Not so. Take another look at well-known Bible stories in the light of the nature of humor. Ruth demonstrates what makes something humorous with a variety of Biblical Stories. Then she goes on to show you how using holy humor can enrich your life. (60 minutes)
